Serum collection with the EOT®II syringe is quite straightforward: The production of Autologous Conditioned Serum (ACS) is easy and quickly carried out in certified labs. After sampling in one single session, the blood is incubated in the patented medical device EOT®II syringe. Later, the treated blood is centrifuged in the laboratory of the doctor’s office and thereby separated into solid components and cell-free serum. This contains enriched growth factors and interleukin antagonists. Usually the doctor will prepare the Autologous Conditioned Serum (ACS) on the very day of blood collection. The serum may be stored for 7 months at -21 °C (-6 °F) until use. The Autologous Conditioned Serum (ACS) is individually prepared for each patient under laboratory conditions at the orthopaedist’s. Applied since 1997, the process is being used by several hundred orthopaedic surgeons in many countries, who have treated hundreds of thousands of patients within nearly 20 years.
